Disappointment is the color of your face.

This album has been in my CD collection for a few months now, and I'm still struggling. I love In The Face Of War, have for like 5 years now. We Make Our Own Luck is easily one of my top 5 favorite albums ever. However, I have never wanted to love an album as much as Everything You've Heard Is True without actually being able to even like it.

It saddens me to say that, but I must. The songs are just bland as wholes. The vocals lack the drive, supported by amazing lyrics in albums past, that make me want to sing along. The music sounds much like the last album, but I was expecting more in terms of progress and enthusiasm. Simply, this album does not make me want to scream and shout.

I still love In The Face Of War. This less-than-stellar release does not decrease my admiration for the rest of their catalog. I'm very appreciative for the impact on my life they've made over the years. I've tried to love the new album, and I just can't. I'm super bummed.
