A Different Train

It is official. I changed my major to Creative Writing from English Education. Time for the boos, the jabs, and a few pats on the back.

Looking back (to two days ago), the decision seems quite logical. My dream career is to be a Writing Professor. Right now, I am most interested in the creative writing world. The CW classes, the events, and clubs are the ones I want to focus on. No, I'm not much of a writer now, but most of the Accounting majors aren't accountants either. (Not to pick on accounting majors. My wife is one.)

The negatives are minimal. The biggest con to this switch is my English Education friends. They are super cool people, and I'm not looking forward to seeing them less. However, the coolest will be still be pals.

Also, I have to take 4 semesters of a foreign language, but i only have 3 semesters left. Eh. Summer school again.

More good news, I only have 13 classes to take to graduate, so I'll be able to take some extra classes to further my "skills." I'm actually going to be able to take a Blogging course with my Writing Center boss, Jackie. Maybe, this blog won't suck as much. Or maybe it will.

Tyler, I think this was a good decision. You should do what makes you happy! Who cares what other people think.

Good for you!
