Kyle has a face really, but dude doesn't have facebook (currently). Pictures are super hard this way, and I suck at having photos of my friends tucked neatly into my computer. Kyle also has an apartment, and it is right over there. I'm pointing across the yard. Seriously, I can see his door from my back porch. Watch out! Kyle had a full stomach last night and lots of manners as my wife made delicious chicken enchiladas and peach cobbler. I'm excited for more neighborness. Kyle once had a secret admirer named Sara Habegger. Yes, that's my wife! I'm dealing with that. Somehow they knew each other as children. Kyle and I went to shows together (ITFOW, AWV, etc.) as teens and now we hangout at watch cool movies or see shows at VGR. Kyle has a friend in me.

Friend of the Week: Disc Golf
A year ago today, I played my first round of disc golf with Jaron and Cory. WHAT A DAY! I was throwing 75 foot drives, missing 6 foot putts, and Cory hit his first ace ever on hole 18 (that is the last hole of the round!). With a Champion Leopard nonetheless. I was throwing a crappy starter Leopard that rolls away if I even look at it. MY EYES WERE DISCS, MY DREAMS WERE DISCS EVER SINCE.
This week has ruled my mind: Aaron got his first ace (he was confused about the basket placement to begin with!), I've played rounds with like 8 different people ( I NEED YOU ALL!), Zach barely missed an ace (he has only played like 9 times! EVER), and I missed some 6 foot putts again! I'm driving better than ever though.
Speaking of better than ever, I got my Destroyer (see picture) back on Wednesday. A month ago, she went for a swim in the river and wouldn't come out. Somehow, somehow, somehow, this dude found it and called me and said hey come get it and didn't even want a few bucks for a recovery fee. Good job nice guy!
I'm not playing today, though. VON'S WITH TODD! But tomorrow, Sara and I are stopping by Matter Park in Marion to throw a round. Disc golf saved my marriage.
I love you, disc golf.

Friend of the Week: Todd McKinney
Honest here, I've never quite been sure how to deal with this friendship. This guy is my professor, my faculty advisor for the Writers Community, my (um) mentor. But, also, this man is geniunely nice to me, like nicer than most people, like nicer than everyone sometimes. (I'm not complaining, man, so many people are soooo nice to me, Todd just rules niceness sometimes.) Example 1: Just now, he stopped by here (The Writing Center..shhhh) to say hey. Example 2: He takes his time, amongst a life of literary work, teaching, being a good dad/husband, running, etc., to talk to me, to listen to my muddled thoughts, to listen to me make stuff up sometimes. I'm not sure why he does this. Example 3: He's given me free access to his bookshelf. Well, besides his sweeeeeeeeeet top shelves (signed books, first editions, specialz). He has a manuscript version of Hoagland's Donkey Gospel!!!!! But yeah, he says, here borrow this, read this, learn this, be cool. I'm trying! I'm trying!
